Since I left my clinical faculty position at the University of Illinois of Chicago in 2006 to start my private practice, I began attending a multitude of lectures, workshops, and conferences through many organizations over many years to hone my skills as an integrative psychiatrist. I was certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine in 2014, and continue to look for new ways to help my patients with their depression, anxiety, insomnia, ADHD, bipolar, or other psychiatric symptoms, whether they want to try avoiding medications altogether or to do as well as possible on medications.
I've found that balancing hormones, whether they be adrenal, thyroid, or reproductive, can improve or alleviate many psychiatric symptoms, such as fatigue, lack of motivation, low libido, depression, apathy, poor concentration, or anxiety.
